Conviction in a trial court is not the end of your case. If you believe there was an error made by the Judge, Jury, Prosecutor, or even your own lawyer, you have the right to appeal to a higher court for review.
Denial of an appeal is also not necessarily the end of your case. If new evidence emerges, or if it comes to light that your prior attorney was ineffectual, you may be eligible for relief by filing a post conviction writ.
